Margo Andrews is a native of Utah and a graduate of the Department of Theatre’s Actor Training Program. Additionally, she trained at the esteemed American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco, CA, and Trinity Repertory Conservatory in Providence, RI. Margo’s professional acting career includes over 20 years of experience in stage work, television, and film. With five national tours to her credit, she has performed in 48 states. Her commercial and industrial film credits include work for such companies and organizations as Target, Ford Motors, USSB Television, 3M, The Minnesota Orchestra, and Dayton Hudson, to name a few.
As a director, Margo had the honor of staging the world premiere of Laurie Brooks’sEveryday Heroes for the 2002 Winter Olympics. She serves as an assistant director and children’s acting coach for Pioneer Theatre Company, and has worked on such productions as Peter Pan, A Christmas Story, and Annie.
Margo is also a specialist in the field of “museum theatre,” working with museums to use theatre as an interpretive educational tool to enhance exhibits. She has worked with the Science Museum of Minnesota and the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, IL, as an actor and consultant. She has developed works for the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis, MN, The Land Stewardship Project in Stillwater, MN, and the Utah Museum of Natural History where her recent production of Hipper and Hopper: Two TOADally Awesome Frogs was a big hit with crowds.
Margo’s favorite role is definitely that of a professor at the U, and she looks forward to connecting with each student as an individual. She teaches Acting for the Musical Theatre Training Program, Acting I and II for non-majors, and the special topics courses Auditions for Actors and Acting American Style.
