Sarah trained as an actor at The Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, Wales, and worked professionally in the UK for twelve years before gaining a Postgraduate Diploma in Voice Studies from The Central School of Speech and Drama in London.
Sarah has spent twelve seasons as Voice and Dialect Coach for the internationally renowned Shaw Festival in Ontario, Canada. Her credits there include Return of the Prodigal, The Man Who Came to Dinner, The Lord of the Flies, Matchmaker, Floyd Collins, Happy End, Maria Severa, My Fair Lady, Belle Moral, The Plough and the Stars, Albertine in Five Times, The Doctor’s Dilemma, Candida, Man and Superman, and Mrs. Warren’s Profession. Sarah has also served as dialect coach for two sessions at the Birmingham Conservatory for Classical Theatre at the Stratford Festival. Locally, Sarah has worked as a voice and dialect coach for Pioneer Theatre Company where her works include The Light in the Piazza, Sunset Boulevard, Our Town, Is He Dead?, Dial M for Murder and Present Laughter. She has also worked at Salt Lake Acting Company (SLAC) where she coached The Overwhelming, Kimberley Akimbo, Going to St. Ives, The Beard of Avon, and The Beauty Queen of Leenane. Most recently Sarah spent a year in New Zealand working as the Additional Dialect Coach on Peter Jackson’s major motion picture, The Hobbit.
Recent local acting credits include Kathryn in J. T. Rogers’ Seeing the Elephant (Salt Lake Acting Company); The Syringa Tree (Utah Contemporary Theatre, Rose Wagner), Vivian Bearing in W;t (Studio 115), and Hannah Pitt and Ethel Rosenberg in Angels in America: Perestrioka (Babcock Theatre).
Sarah has directed many shows for the Department of Theatre including Hay Fever, The Rocky Horror Show, Ring Round the Moon, Happy End, Assassins and The Duchess of Malfi.
