The University of Utah
Department of Theatre presents THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN, a dark
Irish comedy, November 15-18, in Studio 115. Set in the Aran Islands in
the 1930's, Martin McDonagh’s play links to the real life story of a
Hollywood film crew's trip to the islands to make a documentary about life
there. When a crippled orphan lands a part in the film, the blunt
townspeople are dismayed. Their cruel yet hilarious interactions make
cripple Billy's attempt to escape the poverty-stricken island a
heartbreakingly funny odyssey. Studio 115 is located in the Performing
Arts Building, just west of the Campus Bookstore. Show times are Thursday
through Saturday at 7:30 pm, matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 pm.
Tickets are $9 general admission, $7 for University faculty and staff, and
$5 for students, and are available through Kingsbury Ticket Office
(581-7100). A small handling fee will be added to the price of each
ticket.
