The Stage Management
Program is a pre-professional program designed to prepare students for
entry-level positions in theater and/or for further education at a
graduate level. This is the only Bachelor's program in Stage Management
in Utah.
All Stage Management
students are required to stage-manage and/or assistant stage-manage
approximately eight to ten shows. This experience allows our students to
refine their stage management skills and technique. Offering hands-on
experience, our program helps each student build a substantial resume'
prior to graduation.
Stage Management students
are given the opportunity to work with numerous local professional Stage
Managers and companies on a regular basis with department /instructor
approval while completing their course work. In addition to student
productions, our students have had the opportunity to work with Utah
Opera, Pioneer Theatre Company, Plan-B Theatre, Sundance Institute and The
Salt Lake Acting Company, Lagoon, The Grand Theatre, and the Egyptian
Theatre Company.
Our students are sought
after by professional theatres and the best graduate schools in the
country upon completion of their BFA Stage Management degree.
