Barbara Sturgis has been affiliated with the with the University of Utah’s Department of Theatre since 1997, and recently joined the Theatre Department full time as an Assistant Clinical Professor.  She completed her undergraduate work at Castleton State College in Vermont and received her MFA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Barbara is a member of Actors Equity Association and Stage Managers’ Association.  She also has experience Stage Managing opera, musical theatre, modern dance, ballet and corporate events.  A few companies that Barbara has enjoyed working with include: Missouri Repertory Theatre, Salt Lake Acting Company, Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, Kansas City Ballet, Repertory Dance Theatre, Lyric Opera Ensemble, Egyptian Theatre Company, Odyssey Dance Theatre, Coke-a-Cola, M&M/Mars/Masterfoods, Ortho Bio Tech and EMC2.
