Peder teaches acting and voice in the Actor Training Program. He holds an MFA from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Prior to his arrival at the University of Utah,
Peder taught acting and voice at the University of Alabama, where he was head of the undergraduate and graduate acting programs, directed and acted in the University season and was a member of the Diversity Committee. He also taught, directed and acted at the University of Wisconsin - Madison after earning his acting MFA. Before his academic career began, he taught scene study in New York and Los Angeles.
A member of AEA, SAG and AFTRA, Peder has acted on both coasts and between. His most recent stage role was Woolsey in THE OVERWHELMING by J.T Rogers at The Salt Lake Acting Company. Last season Mr. Melhuse directed the Department's production of THE SEAGULL in the Babcock Theatre. Melhuse serves as faculty advisor to SAC and The SENIOR PLAYERS.
