Amanda French has been a wig master and hair and makeup designer for 20 years and is in her ninth year at Pioneer Theatre Company and the University of Utah. She was Hair and Makeup Designer and the Hair and Makeup Director for the Tony Award winning Utah Shakespearean Festival for 10 years and has also worked for The Utah Opera, The Egyptian Theatre Company, The Hale Center Theatre, The University of Texas at Austin, The Cincinnati School for Creative and Performing Arts, The Kentucky Opera,and Hot Summer Nights at the University of Cincinnati. She is a contributing writer in the ninth and tenth editions of Stage Makeup by Corson, Glavan and Norcross and her work can also be seen in The Costume Technician's Handbook by Rosemary Ingham and Liz Covey. She attended the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati where she studied with Hair and Makeup Designer Lenna Kaleva. She is a member of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) and is a co-founder of the USITT Intermountain Desert regional section.
