Dr. Frederickson holds B.S., M.A., and Ph. D. degrees from the University of Utah and served for 27 years on the theatre faculty of Emporia State University (Emporia, Kansas), retiring as a full professor in 1999. He has been an adjunct member of the U of U theatre faculty since 2001. While at Emporia, he taught courses in acting, directing, script adaptation, interpretation, classical text and voice & diction. Ron has numerous stage and film acting credits and has directed over 80 plays and musicals in regional and educational theatre, including The Voice of the Prairie, which was performed at Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. as a national finalist in the 25th Annual Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. He is recipient of the 1998 Kansas Governor's Arts Educator Award, and a Kennedy Center Medallion of Excellence in 1999.
In 2002 Ron was honored at the dedication of the Ronald Q. Frederickson Studio Theatre on the Emporia State University Campus.
