The Conways, celebrating Kay’s 21st birthday in 1919, seem a golden family – safe and well after the Great War, looking forward to future careers, marriages, and a brave new world. Through J B Priestley’s masterly manipulation of time, we see into their future and back again to where the seeds of their downfall were planted.

Time and the Conways by J.B. Priestley
The Conways, celebrating Kay's 21st birthday in 1919, seem a golden family - safe and well after the Great War, looking forward to future careers, marriages, and a brave new world. Through J. B. Priestley's masterly manipulation of time, we see into their future and back again to where seeds of deterioration were planted.
Guest artist Roger Forbes directs the production. An actor, director and teacher for over forty years both in the USA and his native England, he was a founding member of the Geva Theatre New York where he acted in and directed over fifty plays. He has appeared in theatres all over the USA and Canada. His UK credits include four years at the National Theatre under Laurence Olivier, as well as plays in London's West End. Roger was also seen on stage last spring as Inspector Hubbard in Pioneer Theatre Company's "Dial 'M' for Murder."
Daughter Madge Conway is played by Julia Alexander, a senior in the Actor Training Program who is also working on a degree in French. Her previous roles with the department in the Babcock include "The Busybody" and "Ring Round the Moon." Julia has also worked with Salt Lake Shakespeare, Black Dog Productions, and the American Shakespeare Center.
Dawn Alicia Boardman, senior in the Actor Training Program, plays daughter Carol Conway. Boardman has been seen at the Babcock in "Blood Wedding" and "The Diary of Anne Frank," and at Studio 115 in "The Cripple of Inishmaan" and W;t.
Playing the mother Mrs. Conway is Melissa Clason Burns, a senior in the ATP. Her other University performances include "The Bakkhai," "The Mercy Seat," "Much Ado About Nothing," "The Busybody," and "Prelude to a Kiss."
Gabrielle Gaston plays daughter Kay Conway. Gaston is a senior in the Actor Training Program and has also appeared in "The Bakkhai," "Ring Round the Moon," "Much Ado About Nothing," and "The Diary of Anne Frank."
Stuart W. Ford plays the role of Ernest Beever. A sophomore in the Actor Training Program, he was previously seen in The Babcock Theatre's production of "The Bakkhai" at Red Butte Garden and in Studio 115's "Une Saison en Enfer."
Talitha Jeppsen, a senior in the Actor Training Program, plays the role of Joan Helford. Jeppsen has appeared in "Ring Round the Moon," "Medea," and "Experiments in Ink 9," a Studio 115 production.
Son Alan Conway is played by Jake Koeppl, a senior in the Actor Training Program. His recent performances at the University include Hugo and Frederick in "Ring Round the Moon," Peter in "The Diary of Anne Frank," and Tupolski in The Pillowman. He also spent his summer playing Eugene in "Biloxi Blues" at the Neil Simon Festival and, in his first motion picture, Pete in "Taking 5."
Mike Nilsson plays Gerald Thornton. Nilsson is a graduate of the ATP and a continuing student of the department. University of Utah acting credits include "Ring Round the Moon," "Much Ado About Nothing," "Blood Wedding," "Helen," "The Busy Body," "Prelude to a Kiss" and "Half Moon Rising." Set Design credits include "Taking Steps" and "The Cripple of Inishmaan."
Andy Rindlisbach plays son Robin Conway. A senior in the Actor Training Program, recent credits include "The Bakkhai" for the 39th Annual Classic Greek Theater Festival, "The Pillowman" and "The Cripple of Inishmaan" in Studio 115. Rindlisbach was also seen in SLAC's production of "The Overwhelming."
Gwen de Veer plays daughter Hazel Conway. A senior in the Actor Training Program, she has appeared in numerous Babcock and Studio 115 shows including "The Bakkhai," "The Seagull," "Blood Wedding," "The Cripple of Inishmaan," "The Heidi Chronicles," and Harold Pinter's "The Lover." De Veer has also appeared at Pioneer Theatre Company.
