Warren Holtz
Stage Make-up/Wig Design

Warren Holz is a licensed
esthetician with the state of Utah. He comes to us from The Salt Lake
Community College where he has also taught the stage Make-up course. Since
1998 Warren has been in charge of creating original wig and make-up designs
for the summer and Halloween seasons at Lagoon. He also designed the magically
unique costumes and make-up for The Witching Hour an original main
stage show for frightmares at Lagoon.
Warren has presented workshops
at the annual Utah Theatre Association Conferences for the last several
years. During the previous five years he has been invited as a guest artist
to lecture and demonstrate his skills at the International Thespian Festival
in Lincoln Nebraska. The Georgia State Thespian conference has also benefited
from his educational workshops. He has also been invited to other states
including Texas and Hawaii. A picture of Warren in action can be seen

Warren just received the
Utah State Sunrise Award for the rocky mountain division of the Look
Good...Feel Better program which is sponsored by CTFA (Cosmetic, Toiletry
and Fragrance Association) American Cancer Society and the Cosmetology
Association. Once a month Warren facilitates a session of the Look
Good...Feel Better program at the Huntsman Cancer Institute to help
female cancer patients deal with esthetic effects of cancer through make-up
and wigs. See the article in Winter 2002 issue of The Signal, a
news letter for the Huntsman Cancer Institute.
Warren designed
the wigs for the 2000 season of the Utah Musical Theatre where he worked
with Erin Moran of (Happy Day's and Joni Loves Chachi) in
Lost In Yonkers. He also hand tied and lace fronted a wig for Alien
Quinn (Annie in the 1980 film with Carol Burnett) for her role as
Molly in The Unsinkable Molly Brown.
In 1995 Warren
was asked to design the make-up for the original outdoor musical extravaganzaUTAH
at the Tuacahn Center for the Arts. He was also the assistant wig master
under the direction of the late Barbara Williams who received her training
from Bob Kelly. Together Barbara, Warren and their small team were responsible
for hand tying over 120 laced fronted wigs. Warren also stayed on through
the summer to help clean and maintain the 1860 styles for these wigs.
Warren assisted
in applying prosthetic appliances in different techniques on witches and
zombies for Nightmare on I-15, a commercial for UTA. He has designed
make-up, wigs and costumes for The Tempest, Seven Brides for Seven
Brothers, two productions of The Wiz, Little Shop of Horrors,
Once on this Island, Mame, Guys and Dolls, and The
Wizard of Oz for various High Schools along the Wasatch Front. He
has also done promotional work for Lagoon, Salt Lake Metropolitan Theatre
Company, Park City Silver Mine Adventure, KSL, JNCO Jeans and The Ringling
Brothers and Barnum and Baily Circus.
