Short
new plays by student playwrights—your opportunity to see new talents
at the beginning of their careers.
The University of Utah Department of Theatre presents
Experiments in Ink IX in Studio 115, October 25-28. This
annual event showcases plays developed by new playwrights, directed,
designed and performed by University theatre students. The mix of short
plays offers an array of genres, from humor to horror. The opportunity
to see world premieres of exciting new works in progress is rare; don’t
miss it! For more information about Experiments in Ink see the
website at
www.experimentsinink.com. Performances are Thursday through Saturday
at 7:30 pm, with matinees on Saturday the 27th and Sunday the
28th at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $9 general admission, $7
University faculty and staff, and $5 students, and can be purchased at the
door or through Kingsbury Ticket Office at 581-7100 or
www.kingtix.com. A small handling fee will be charged for each
ticket. Studio 115 is located in the Performing Arts Building, just west
of the campus bookstore. [Some plays contain adult themes and strong
language.]
In conjunction with the Literary Managers and
Dramaturgs of the Americas (LMDA), a round-table discussion on new play
dramaturgy will be offered at 5:00 pm on Saturday, October 27, between our
Saturday matinee and evening performances. The challenges and rewards of
working with new plays will be discussed. There is no cost to attend the
discussion, but we do ask you to RSVP to
c.a.hill@utah.edu.

Performances in Studio 115 run Thursday
